Light in my Shadow

Here are a few of my own mindful drawings.
Some of these drawings have a lot of meaning.
Some don’t have any at all.
But every one of them represents retraining my brain and expanding my consciousness.

It doesn’t matter much to me what my finished pictures look like. I’m not here to be a ‘great’ artist – I want my art to be relatable. I want to show you that you can do it too. I want to remind you that you are a powerful creator. I’ve drawn so many pieces that look super weird, and they’re often full of ‘mistakes’ – but so what. Once it’s done, it’s done. Embrace it! Learn from it. Laugh. Love your ‘weird’ because it’s so bloody beautiful and UNIQUE.

And there’s only ONE drawing in the world like it! (isn’t that wild?).

Just do your best ….and let go of the rest.

Remember:
The power of mindful drawing lies in the process – not in the end result.

Some of these drawings are pretty special to me. They represent something I was going through at the time, or an awareness I had. Take a look at these posts right here if you want to know what was going on in my brain, heart and soul as I was drawing the following pictures.

With all the pictures below, I started with the Fruit of Life template - which is made up of simple circles (they're also the geometric building blocks of endless possibilities).

I can show you how to draw this simple Fruit of Life template right here, and if you feel like it, go ahead and create your own drawing – see what emerges.

The drawings above are just a few examples of what can emerge from the Fruit of Life template. Head on over to my tutorials section when you’re ready to give it a go. You’ve got nothing to lose, and everything to gain.
You don’t need ANY skill or experience at all.
I’ll guide you through it.

I’ll eventually have a big collection of tutorials based on the Fruit of Life template. Once you get the hang of how to draw the basic template (it’s easy…), you won’t need me for long. You’ll begin to see endless shapes and possibilities for you to explore.

Some of my first drawings from when I started, back in 2017.

The drawings below were my very first mindful drawings. They’re whoppers – around 80cm x 60cm – and each one took a few months to draw. For over a year I sat on the floor of my nephew’s toy room, hunched over these huge boards, drawing in terrible light, while carving out portals into my subconscious mind to clear out my shadows.

These drawings threw me a ladder down at rock bottom, and very slowly, one rung at a time, I climbed back out. There is no ceiling to how high we can climb, how deep we can dive, or how far our consciousness can expand.

This journey is more beautiful than anything I could ever imagine.

The aim of my website, is to share this with you, so that you can experience it too.
